But that’s not all – this cunning thief didn’t stop there. Oh no, they had larger ambitions and set their sights on the magical realm of NFTs. In June 2023, they committed the unthinkable, swiping approximately $2.27 million worth of shiny digital collectibles, leaving art enthusiasts (and the artists themselves) gasping for air.
Like a master illusionist, the hacker swiftly sold half of the stolen NFTs within a mere 160 minutes. I guess they figured they had to strike while the digital iron was hot! The first place where stolen NFTs were peddled was none other than @blur_io. A whopping 86% of the pilfered artwork found itself on their marketplace. It’s as if they were saying, “Hello, world! Look what I’ve got!”
But let’s not forget our runner-up, @opensea. With 13.76% of the stolen NFTs finding their way onto this popular marketplace, it seems our friendly hacker wanted to spread the love around. I guess they had some taste after all!
